ADAM HOLLINGSWORTH

Adam has had an awesome year of hunting, starting with this 8-point buck shot at 171 yards! He was hunting on a power line at Deer Ridge Hunting Club and had seen this  buck on his trail camera several times. After hitting his grunt call, the buck walked out to his left on the power line at the bottom of a valley, between a thicket. One shot and he dropped!

Here’s the 7 point Adam killed while hunting with his Dad at Salt Lick Hunting Club up 69N near Fields Grocery. It was 12:30 pm when they got to the area they wanted to hunt… fresh and older cutover.  His Dad walked ahead up the road to a tripod overlooking old cutover. As soon as he climbed up he saw this buck walking down a ridge. Dad radioed Adam to hurry and get to the tripod. So, he ran up the hill to him, climbed into the tripod and spotted the buck. Took a little bit of waiting and patience for the buck to come into a clear spot but finally Adam had the view he needed and dropped it at 77 yards! it was an incredible moment for both men with Dad so happy he was able to help his son get the trophy!

Next is a bobcat he killed that same afternoon as the nice 7 point while he was sitting at a field. The bobcat walked out 30 yards from him with the rabbit in his mouth! He then dropped the rabbit and started walking towards Adam as he sat in a tripod. “Took two shots to kill the bobcat but he won’t be killing anything else at the club.”

IN ADAM’S OWN WORDS:

Next was a big boar I got at Salt Lick while on a gas line with a field. As I was walking to the stand I saw several wallars and fresh sign of a large hog.
At 4 I saw what i thought was a small cat walk into the field behind me at 357 yards. I watched him a min then he walked down another road out of sight.
At 4:45pm while watching behind me for the big hog. I saw him walk out where the wallers were then started walking towards me at 127 yds.
So I aimed my rifle a DB10 308cal with a Burris Eliminator III scope at him on the neck of the boar.
Took the shot and he folded up right there the Hornady 178grain ELD-X dropped him. He ended up weighing 340lbs by far the largest boar I’ve ever seen or killed.

Every animal I’ve harvested this year has been with the same rifle. It’s been an incredible year!

BRAYDEN O'BRYANT

Meet 7-year old Brayden O'Bryant, shown here with his first two trophy bucks recently taken in Lamar County. We posted pics of him last year when he dropped a couple of nice Greene County wild boar, but always knew this was his true goal! A big salute goes out to this young man and his Dad, Mark! Congratulations Brayden!
