JUST ANOTHER FISHING STORY! MAY 23, 2015

We have a fishing story to top all others! Yesterday, Richard and Willard McDaniel were bank-fishing at the mouth of the Tombigbee and Sipsey Rivers and had just visited with Kelvin Smith, a known catfish "noodler" in the area. Shortly after that, what comes floating (at a fast rate of speed) down the river but a noodle, obviously attached to some unknown critter! Richard gave the fetch command to duck retrievers, Suzi and Lilly and off they went! Lilly was the first to grab the noodle and the unknown critter flipped her with a powerful jerk. Suzi's turn, and she did her best to retrieve, but eventually the current started taking all downriver and pups swam back to the bank turning everything over to Willard who took off down the bank in hot pursuit, dogs in chase with him. To make Willard's long story short, he can tell you not a good idea to jump in the Tombigbee current with shoes on...but between him, Suzi, and Lilly, here's the final result. (Kelvin's "noodling" technique came in handy as Willard finally stuck his arm into the fish's mouth...fish clamping down hard and drawing blood, but only way for Willard to hang on!) Good job of tag-teaming Willard, Suzi, and Lilly!
